We arrive at the entrance hall of Haus der Kunst (House of Art), Mirjam welcomed us with huge heartiness to the 1st edition of Greenstyle Munich. The online editor for high-end magazines such as VOGUE, ELLE & Glamour makes a statement at her event. We all have the feeling of butterflies in our stomachs because never before has Fair Fashion & Organic Beauty had such an expressive and tasteful presentation as this one in the middle of Munich. In the last 10 years the atmosphere of visiting fashion fairs has changed. Whether in Berlin or Florence, with fast fashion, more and more brands lost their identity. What is our signature style? Where do we come from? What are we particularly good at? Finest quality, timeless design and above all a sustainable and fair supply chain for human, animals and our environment are the most important statements for all brands which are to be discovered at Greenstyle Munich.
Photos of alpacas on the mountains of Peru are on Marisa and Kais’ smartphone, where the wool of the knit-sweaters of their brand Maqu come from. With major enthusiasm they lead us through their collection, explain to us how their wool is obtained and how the residual materials are used. They invited us to a slide show night at their studio in Berlin to give us an understanding of their trip to Peru and their visits to the local dressmakers.
This is just one of many stories behind the impressive brands we have been able to explore during our time in Munich.

Conferences with exciting speakers, styling lounges and interactive workshops make Greenstyle Munich to an absolutely praiseworthy event for eco & fair design which inspires and motivates the audience to devote even more to the Slow fashion movement. Directly after our departure we reserved the hotel for the 2nd edition of Greenstyle Munich in Spring 2019.
